S/P2 Training

Wednesday, October 24 from 6-8 pm -S/P2 Test Time The purpose of this time is to get as many people through S/P2 training as possible. People are welcome to do the training at home using the link that Mr. Roberts sent out via Mr. DeLisle. If they have issues, they can come to this session.

  1. Session will happen in D32 with the chrome books that are in the room
  2. Student roster was generated and sent to Mr. Roberts

Brainstorming session of safety considerations

  • Safety Glasses - Everyone to furnish their own safety glasses. Glasses will be available for purchase.
  • Hold everyone accountable, students, mentors, coaches, everyone.
  • Rules apply to everyone
  • Zero tolerance policy
  • Be bold and say something about a safety concern. If you don't feel comfortable, tell a mentor.
  • A mentor needs to be in every room. No students left alone.
  • The robot rules need to be written and displayed.
  • Need procedures for robot enabled and robot moving. What do we say so people know what's going on.
  • Fab shop machines should have a list of required Personal Protective Equipment next to them.
  • If we had more room keys available or the rooms were already unlocked we could reduce the amount of running in the hallways.
  • the router should be moved from the CAD room to a safer, more controlled location
  • OSHA says that safety glasses are required anytime a power tool is used. What do we say?
  • Make a list of all safety items identified. If you identify one, you get candy.

Establish Next Steps

Monday, October 29 from 6-8 pm - General Safety Training for the whole team.

  1. Thaddeus will look for old safety presentations and procedures.
  2. Mr. DeLisle will send a link to the GM Safety Training presentation

A comprehensive safety policy needs to be generated and published. Safety and Materials team will champion this. Mr. Worthing has a good start on the wiki.
