IRI gave our team the opportunity to not only meet but compete with some of the best in FIRST.
I spent a lot of my time observing older and wiser teams to see how they have been running
their teams and how they build their robots. I plan on implementing some of the things I
observed over the weekend into our team to make it stronger for our exciting future.
I also had the opportunity to connect with people I never would have been able to at Detroit or
around Michigan. It was a lot of fun to trade shirts and even just talk about robotics with teams
out of state, and it was really interesting to get everyone's perspective on what FIRST is.
The last thing I learned at IRI was that we need to start competing in districts that are farther
away from us. This way we develop a maturity of being a travel team, and we get to expand our
scope of what FIRST can bring us.
It was also a lot of fun to screw around with the Chickens and Hot….
