The mechanical section of this wiki will attempt to cover the various physical components that may or must be part of a functioning robot.  Mechanical Engineering encompasses physical properties of materials, structural concepts, subsystems and assemblies, manufacturing techniques, and more.  We will not restrict ourselves from venturing into areas that are not strictly "engineering" but focus on capturing knowledge that a reader would probably like to find. Feel free to use the search to find concepts that you already need information on. Otherwise, this section will begin with with a robot bottom to top.
